Salary: Market Related


Claims Manager – Short Term Insurance (Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance) with minimum 5 years’ industry experience on a managerial level and experience in both personal and commercial lines claims, required to ensure timeous processing of claims, profitability and compliance of the Claims Processing Department.


Minimum requirements:

  • NQF4 Short Term Insurance qualification OR suitable alternative as recognised by the FSB – Minimum: compliant for both commercial and personal lines insurance
  • RE essential
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in the short term insurance industry on a managerial level
  • Minimum 5 years’ claims processing experience – Personal Lines AND Commercial essential
  • Bilingual – English and Afrikaans essential


  • Manage and report on Claims Processing Department’s KPI’s
  • Identify areas of concern and implement corrective measures
  • Manage, support and coach Team Leader and Claims Consultants
  • Performance Management, Staff engagement and motivation
  • Talent management and succession planning
  • Staff communication and interaction – chairing and facilitating staff meetings
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and SLA’s
  • Assist in determining goals and service levels for various teams
  • Drive process, system enhancements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
  • Identify and investigate variances
  • Manage department’s costs against approved budget
