Product Owner with a formal qualification and minimum 10 years’ integration services and connectivity specialist experience, including 5 years’ technical product management or ownership within the Fintech/Telecom/Software Integration industry, required to lead the design, development and management of the integration services and connectivity platforms, for a Fintech company based in Stellenbosch.
Minimum requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, including 5 years’ product management or ownership in fintech, telecom or software integration essential
- Technical expertise in API’s and RESTful services required
- Practical experience in either telephony, mobile network and messaging, payments and banking or credit bureau integrations required
- Product management certification – Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, Product School, SAFe PM/PO highly advantageous
- Agile/Scrum methodologies like Jira, Confluence and other collaboration platforms required
- Excellent Stakeholder management and communication skills essential
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, lead the design, development and management of integration services and connectivity platforms
- Maintain and define product vision, roadmaps and backlog for all integration related services
- Implement and monitor telephony systems, including PABX and VoIP in collaboration with the Platform Team
- Lead integrations with mobile network operators to enable messaging, payments, USSD and WhatsApp based services across multiple African markets
- Oversee banking and payment gateway integrations to support disbursements, direct debits, EFT’s and financial transactions
- Manage credit bureau and data provider integrations to enhance lending decisions and ensure regulatory compliance
- Parter with engineering and operations Teams to ensure secure, scalable and high-performance integrations
- Ensure integrations include real-time monitoring and metrics to track system health, diagnose issues and drive improvement
- Primary liaison with external technology partners for integration initiatives
