Excavator Product Support Specialist with minimum 5 years’ operational earthmoving experience with electrical and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and faultfinding and 2 years’ supervisory experience required to provide specialist support for all Excavator clients and to upskill all delegates through effective training.


Minimum requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanic – Hydraulic /Electrical NQF4 essential
  • Engineering Certificate (NQF5) advantageous
  • Training qualification advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years’ operations experience required dealing with earthmoving equipment – electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Minimum 5 years troubleshooting and faultfinding experience required
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience required
  • Electrical Excavator knowledge required
  • AC Drive System knowledge required
  • Valid license and clear criminal and credit record with valid passport required



  • Product support and technical support to Dealer Network and clients
  • Assist Dealer with technical enquiries and technical problems
  • Investigate Field Information Reports (FIR) to identify notifications
  • Determine cause of problem and submit FIR to factory for customer assistance and feedback
  • Receive and enforce service bulletin instructions to ensure compliance
  • Provide technical support (verbal and physical) to ensure continuous operations
  • Provide technical support to external customers within SA and conduct continuous monitoring of service and product quality
  • Regular site visits to advise clients and dealers of possible problems
  • Training to delegates on specialized field and assess staff on practical training
  • Feedback to Training Supervisor re progress of mechanics in practical training
  • Perform health and safety training
  • Conduct training to mechanics on technical report writing
  • Warranty claims – assist Warranty Coordinator with technical queries to judge warranty claims
  • Check FIR to ensure warranty claims are processed timeously
  • Conduct trend analysis on all warranty claims to identify possible breakdown trends
  • Parts – parts scaling on all models and assist in creating service kits for all models
