Quantitative Analyst with IT System / Data Analysis or Mathematics qualification and minimum 5 years’ experience in the Asset Management Industry required to be the custodian of the investment team’s data and to improve investment processes, portfolio construction and risk management.
Minimum requirements:
- Tertiary qualification required – Statistics / Mathematics / Engineering / Information Systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within asset management industry required – Investments or IT/Business Development
- Data management, advanced analytics and descriptive analysis experience required
- Programming skills required that allows for exploration and analysis of data
- SQL skills required – exploration and analysis of data
- Ability to reconcile and track data across systems
- Solid understanding of databases and ability to analyse data required
Responsibilities:
- Custodian of investment team’s data
- Data Management
- Review and document all data collection, storage and usage of data within the investment team
- Systems and analytics
- Liaise with BA’s on new system implementation – Order Management System and Data Centralization initiative
- Manage data within the investment team improving collection, storage and retrieval
- Look for initiative to leverage off the investment team’s data to identify new investment ideas, enhance investment processes and improve portfolio construction and risk management
- Data analysis
- Visualisation and reporting
- Take ownership of existing portfolio analysis tools – (iMaps and Bloomberg) seeking to better portfolios and risk analytics
- Interaction with other divisions
- Liaise with BA Team and Sales/Marketing to understand investment team relevant data collected and maintained outside the investment team
