Systems Analyst with a relevant Degree in Engineering/Accounting/Mathematics and at least 1-2 years’ experience and exposure to programming or scripting, preferably in the Investment Management / Financial Services environment, required to be responsible for the support, configuration and health of the systems which includes analysing system behaviour and an in-depth understanding of system functionality, instrument valuations and related financial calculations, for an Asset Management Company based in Constantia.
Minimum requirements:
- Relevant degree (Engineering, Mathematics or Accounting) essential
- 1-2 years’ relevant experience as a Systems Analyst essential
- Exposure to programming or scripting required
- Proven ability to solve complex problems
- Experience improving IT systems and processes through analysing system behaviour required
- Experience with trading systems preferred
- Experience with unit trust fund accounting system advantageous
- Financial data analysis skills advantageous
- Knowledge of market instruments, including Fixed Income, and processes advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of overall system health
- Monitor and improve daily system controls
- Monitor and ensure business and market data integrity
- Source and manage new data integration requirements from business users
- Test new instrument types to ensure end to end system integrity
- Test and recreate system calculations to validate correct functioning
- Implement configuration changes requested by business users that impact application views and behaviour
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Work with the Vendor and IT implementation teams to implement change
- Make system configuration changes
